Abel Barragan is the Compliance Manager for Thomas Safran & Associates. He has over ten years of affordable housing compliance experience. He previously worked as a compliance specialist for California Quadel, a Performance Based Contract Administrator for HUD’s Section 8 program in California. Abel’s auditing experience in combination with the experience working on the management side has given him a great insight on all aspects of the affordable housing industry.

Abel attended California State University, Northridge and graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration with an option in Marketing. He holds an Assisted Housing Manager (AHM) certification, Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) certification and a Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM) designation from the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) certification.
